Summary:
This 4-day trek in the Simien Mountains takes you to the highlights of the Simien Mountains National Park.
Day 1
Early morning fly to Gonder to visit the royal enclosure of Fasil Gehebbi which was built of stone in the mid-17th century then visit bath of fasiledes is a sunken pool still used for the Timket (Epiphany) festival in January 7. After lunch drive to Debark
Overnight hotel Debark
Day 2
Depart early in the morning from Debark to driving to Sankaber. We will stop along the way to handle park fees, etc. If you like, we can drop you in or around semien lodge for a 1 hour walking to Akabit, which passes close to the escarpment edge. Nearing Sankaber, you will have beautiful views on both sides of the escarpment ridge and where you will likely see the endemic Gelada baboons. In Sankaber, you will be met with your supplies. Overnight camping in Sankober.
